what:
WOS LOXathon - Day&Night Tournament
when:
Oct. 8th 5PM Pacific, 6PM Mountain, 7PM Central, 8PM Eastern
where:
LOXophilia 72.5.249.99:27910
=============
Get your flashlights ready and keep your scanner handy, because we will be playing throughout the day and all through the night, literally! LOX mod developer QwazyWabbit has recently revamped and fixed the Day/Night feature for LOX and we are eager to give this awesome feature a workout! This feature simulates the passing of time from day to night and can be configured by the server admin to adjust for darkness levels and the amount of time between day and night cycles.
The object of the Tournament is to destroy everything that lie in your path all while staying alive through the night. You can use the flashlight, scanner, or even use your blaster or available weapon to light your way but look out for those lurking in the darkness of the night :) The player
with the highest combined score after six maps will be declared the Day&Night Winner!
If you are not up to date on all the binds for LOX, head on over to the LOX Documentation Station and check out all the binds, features, and tips for the latest version of LOX. You can also catch all the latest discussion about the Tournament at the Clan WOS Message Boards.

Swarm Event - Saturday March 25 7 PM to 8:30 PM Pacific Time |

Posted by deacon on Tuesday, March 14, 2006
We will be holding a non-competitive Public Swarm Event Saturday, March 25, from 7 PM to 8:30 PM Pacific (and longer, if interest and stamina are adequate). You need not be a WOS member to participate.
What is a Swarm Event?
Simply put, we all agree to jump from one server to the next as a "swarm" of players. I will serve and Swarm Coordinator to put out word, both in our TeamSpeak channel, and in text inside the game, as to the next destination. Then we all just jump over there, the goal being to do this for at least one complete map on each server where we land. Depending on timing and response, we should be able to get in between 5 and 10 server hops. Volunteer if you are interested in snagging some screen shots for us.
Start by coming to Loxophilia.
Note that I will also probably pick at least a couple of WOD servers as well, and will seek out servers that have folks playing who don't we're coming. Half the fun is the "surprise" factor.
Ack if you are interested in joining the herd.

WOS Vs. The World Results |

The results are in and The World came out victorious over WOS in a close 5-4 final score. You can find all the scores, screenshots and chat about the Tournament on the WOS Message Boards. This was a most glorious tournament in many respects. We had a record breaking server load with 28 people counted at the peak, we had a huge turnout in TeamSpeak and fun was had by all. Although we had a few spurts of lag and random disconnects, we appreciate everyone's patience for hanging in there throughout the whole tournament. We couldn't have asked for a better turnout and LOX mod got a workout like never before. Many, many thanks to QwazyWabbit, TheLopez, and Phlem for their hardwork and continued development of LOX mod, without them our Tournaments wouldn't take place. Also many thanks to Jesse and Aagghhh for organizing and setting up the Tournament for both sides and BVJ for administering the TeamSpeak server. And last but definitely not least, THANK YOU to ALL the players who came out and participated!

The 2005 WOS 2 vs. 2 Tournament was a huge success and was one of the best Tournaments in WOS history! The hard fought final match pitted the two teams against each other on the stock Quake2 map City1. The outdoor fights were hot and heavy with clusters, rails, and vortexes flying everywhere. After the gibs settled and the last tracker exploded, Team Jesse/Curly stood victorious over Team Skies/Grasshopper. Final match score was 32 - 27.
A big Congratulations to Team Jesse/Curly for their victory and thanks to all the competitors who came out and gave it their all!
Also a special Thank You to Jesse and QwazyWabbit for organizing, prepping the server and getting people into their matches, you guys did a fantastic job and it showed by how smoothly and efficiently things ran. GREAT JOB!
My hat also goes off to ALL the competitors and spectators that showed up and participated in this most triumphant Tournament! Many Many Thanks to CowboyJaxFL, Booya, Pablo, AAAGGGHH!!, Corniss, Phlem, SkiesofBoredom, Mr.BovineOrdur, Grasshopper, BVJ, X7, DuckVader, QwazyWabbit, Jesse and Curly. We had a great turnout and the most people ever on TeamSpeak!!
You can find screenshots of the final round match, individual match results, and Demos provided by BVJ (Thanks BVJ for the Demos!!) at the WOS Tournament site:
