I agree Mr BO.. that's a bit of a stretch to have on Sci Fi.. but.. they do seem to love filling peoples' minds with as much mindlessness and things overly unrelated to teaching and/or showing basic responsibility as they can.. in every nook and cranny they [oh so harmlessly] can.
It's a hard thing to try to explain this observation too: Much like WWE (or F) or whatever "wrestling", I cannot stand soap operas. But.. if I sit there and make myself watch it for a few minutes somewhere someone has it on.. I find myself semi-interested in and curious about what next idiotic and overly rude statement from someone will be.. the next frown where they zoom into someones face/eyes.. or the next go to h-ll look from someone.. the next revelation of who 'did' who or who 'cheated out of money' drama that they are all are basically based on and almost all they are about, etc. Same thing in the same way with today's wrestling "entertaiment"/overall drama madness from characters back and forth towards each other. It is funny (as they know) and can be entertaining.. but the thing for me is.. why? Why go that far creating such un-real drama (like these [slightly real] "reality" shows) and so much of this stuff on so many channels? Yea.. half of it can be entertaining for minutes at a time.. but how is putting out massive amounts of all this kind of stuff helping people who watch it for whatever reasons in the overall long run?
I know I drifted here but I did find another's view on what you posted about here:
